Chagrin Valley Little Theatre presents the benefit “Murder By the Falls – A Deadly Inside Scoop”.

CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio – Calling all Mabels, Olivers and Charles: There’s a new murder to solve at the CVLT building in downtown Chagrin Falls as the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre hosts its murder mystery benefit, “Murder By the Falls – A Deadly Inside Scoop,” on Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7 at 6 p.m.

Not only can theatergoers watch the mystery unfold on stage, but they will also be asked to put on their best Matlock or Sherlock Holmes hat to solve the crime in downtown Chagrin Falls.

This year's scenario, about the mysterious ice cream parlor, was written by Abby Collette of South Euclid and adapted for the stage by Andrew Rothman of the CVLT. The fundraiser kicks off the CVLT's 95th season and funds raised will help cover operating costs and performance rights.

Visitors will not only be on the lookout for clues, but also the odd local celebrity, as several local journalists have participated in the fundraiser in the past, including Leon Bibb and Jan Jones.

Murder by the Falls begins each night at 6 p.m. outdoors, weather permitting, with appetizers and a bar at 40 River Street, Chagrin Falls. The murder mystery is presented at 7 p.m. and the drama then moves to downtown Chagrin Falls where participants learn more characters and clues.

After gaining more information about the murder, the “detectives” meet at the Township Hall for coffee and dessert and present their best arguments for their murder suspect. The best answers to the crime puzzle will be rewarded with tickets to CVLT's upcoming shows.

Tickets for the crime thriller benefit are $55 and are available at cvlt.org.
