Man arrested after hit-and-run, 2 wanted, says MPD | News

Memphis, Tennessee – One man was arrested and two people are still at large following a hit-and-run crash Sunday night in Hickory Hill, police said.

Memphis Police (MPD) responded to a two-car crash at the corner of East Shelby Drive and Clarke Road just after 6:10 p.m. and found a woman injured in the crash. She was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Three passengers in a Nissan fled the scene of the accident, the MPD said.

According to police, one man was arrested in the crash. He is 23-year-old Tyler Williams, who was charged with several offenses, including theft of a car valued at $10,000 to $60,000, fleeing by car and fleeing on foot.

According to MPD, Williams was arrested in the 5500 block of East Shelby Drive – about 1.5 miles from the crash scene. He was found in possession of a Glock ignition switch and drugs, police added.

Officers searched the area and found backpacks belonging to the other two suspects with additional firearms inside, police said.

According to MPD, the Nissan involved in the accident is believed to have been stolen from Olive Branch, Mississippi.
