LANSING, Michigan (WILX) – Two people were killed in a car crash in Lansing early Saturday morning.

The accident occurred just before 1 a.m. on August 24 near Saginaw and Marshall Streets. When Lansing police arrived at the scene, they found 26-year-old Neshawn Jackson outside the car. Police believe he was ejected from the car. Jackson died at the scene.

Katherine Gilbert, 31, was still in the car when officers arrived at the scene. She was rescued by the Lansing Fire Department and taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

Police say speed was likely a factor in the accident.
