Police release new information on police-involved shooting in Dayton – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

DAYTON – Dayton police have announced they will release new information following a police-involved shooting Friday night.

According to a previous report from News Center 7, Dayton officers responded to a complaint of someone with a gun in the 900 block of Custer Place around 11:36 p.m.

When emergency services arrived on scene, they found a person with a weapon.

According to a Dayton Police Department spokesman, officers ordered the person to drop the weapon and fired their weapons shortly thereafter.

The suspect was shot and taken into custody.

Paramedics took the suspect to a hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

The spokesman said two weapons were found at the scene.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office will conduct the criminal investigation while the Dayton Police Department's Professional Standards Bureau will conduct an administrative investigation.
