NJ football classifications released for 2024 season

The NJSIAA released the long-awaited classifications for the 2024 high school football season on XXX.

The biggest change this year is the classification of non-public teams. Some schools that were previously in the Non-Public A category have been moved to the Non-Public B category under the new rules:

The rules remained the same on the public school side, with each group divided into “North” and “South” regions. The top 16 teams from each region qualify for the sectional playoffs and are divided into two sectional groups of eight teams each. The northern teams are “divided” into North 1 and North 2 sections. The southern teams are “divided” into Central and South sections.

The winners of the individual public sections compete against each other in regional championship games and advance to the state finals.
