“Great loss for all”: Sheriff’s office and community mourn sudden death of Douglas County deputy – WSB-TV Channel 2

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Georgia – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office mourns the unexpected death of one of its employees.

Last Tuesday, Douglas County Police Officer Marco Miranda-Perez died in his home.

According to the sheriff's office, the deputy is believed to have died of natural causes.

LATEST STORIES:

Miranda-Perez made contacts with many people in the community, including the Douglas County District Attorney's Office.

“We are saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Deputy Marco Miranda of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (Georgia). He worked closely with our office over the years and it is a great loss for all of us,” the DA's office said.

The agreements are still pending.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family,” the sheriff’s office said.
