Videos show hail and heavy rain during storms in Massachusetts – Boston News, Weather, Sports

BOURNE, MASS. (WHDH) – Photos and videos showed an on-site look Monday as severe storms hit several Massachusetts communities, dumping golf ball-sized hail in at least one location.

In Onset, video shared with 7NEWS showed small hail bouncing off several cars in a driveway.

In West Dennis, a video showed hail accumulating on a porch during rain and frequent thunderstorms.

Elsewhere on Cape Cod, Bourne resident Zach Commeau shared a video of hail falling on his neighborhood.

Commeau filmed the storm from his car parked in the driveway. His video showed a partially flooded street behind him, with hailstones constantly splashing into the water.

Although stormy weather continued, Bourne authorities urged motorists to exercise caution.

“A weather system moved in and flooded the area with everything but the kitchen sink,” Bourne police said in a post on Facebook.

Police said several roads were flooded, including portions of Route 6 and Route 28. Bourne Fire and Rescue posted a photo of floodwaters inundating part of the Bourne Rotary in a separate post on Facebook.

The National Weather Service issued a severe weather warning for much of southern New England early Monday afternoon. The warning will remain in effect until 7 p.m.

The weather service had issued a series of more specific severe weather warnings and flash flood warnings from around 4 p.m.

Outside Bourne, additional flooding was reported in Dennis. The National Weather Service confirmed golf ball-sized hail fell in Marion.
