A Mississippi man is currently facing felony charges after attempting to escape while being escorted from court to the county jail.

According to Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten, Brian McKlemurry was just arraigned in Adams County Court on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and sentenced to $200,000 bail.

McKlemurry was initially arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance and appeared before Judge Danny Barber for arraignment. After bail was set, officers began escorting McKlemurry back to the Adams County Jail. During the walk, however, McKlemurry broke away from officers and attempted to flee.

His attempt to break free did not last long, however, as he was arrested a short distance away. McKlemurry was then brought before Judge Barber again, this time on a new charge of escape. Judge Barber set an additional bail of $150,000 on the escape charge.
