A job posting at Naughty Dog suggests that the studio is working on AI-focused systems

As TheGamer has discovered, there seems to be a job advertisement for The Last of Us developer Naughty dog suggests that the studio is working on systems that it can use AI in its development processes.

The job posting for an animation programmer states that the studio is looking for someone who can “invent, develop, maintain and improve gameplay animation systems that lead the industry in quality while maintaining robust flexibility for use by AI, designers and scripts.”

It's the first item in the ad, and it's fascinating to see it in a Naughty Dog listing because it seems to line up with what we've heard from the Naughty Dog boss. Neil Druckman At the beginning of the year in a debunked interview Sony carried out with Druckmann.

The interview has since been removed, but only after Druckmann was allegedly misquoted as saying: “AI will really revolutionize the way content is created, even if it raises some ethical questions that we need to address.”

“With technologies like AI and the ability to do motion capture right from home, we are reducing both costs and technical hurdles. This opens the door for us to tackle bolder projects and push the boundaries of storytelling in games.

This development actually gives creators the opportunity to bring their visions to life without the traditional obstacles.”

Druckmann has released his version of the statement, but the point remains that this ad directly suggests that the studio is developing systems that work in tandem with AI technology.

Right now it's animation. It will be interesting to see how much further it goes.
