Road near Garden of the Gods closed after shooting that led to accident

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (KRDO) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has closed Chestnut St.

Chestnut is located near the Garden of the Gods Road.

According to CSPD, the crash was the result of a shooting. When emergency responders arrived, they found an adult dead with at least one gunshot wound.

The CSPD homicide squad responds.

There are currently no suspects in custody. According to CSPD, an older four-door silver sedan is the vehicle of interest.

The CSPD does not assume that this was a random act of violence, but that those involved knew each other.
