Rice University shooting: Authorities investigate ‘possible murder’ at Jones College

HOUSTON – According to a social media post, local authorities are investigating a “possible homicide” at Jones College.

Officers said they responded to a welfare check in the 6100 block of Main Street.

Authorities said there were two bodies at the scene.

A post from Rice University said: “RUPD is investigating a possible homicide at Jones College. All students should remain in their rooms until further notice. Faculty and staff should remain home until further notice.”

The school administration also announced that all classes and activities for August 26, 2024 have been cancelled.
