Arthur Booth, man in viral courtroom reunion with judge, back in prison – NBC 6 South Florida

Robbery victims can now sleep a little easier after Miami police announced they have arrested a man responsible for a series of robberies.

Eduardo, 85, was relieved to learn that the man who, according to police, stole his gold chain is now in prison.

According to Miami police, on August 8, someone knocked on Eduardo's door on West Flagler Street and identified himself as a plumber.

Eduardo explained in Spanish that the man asked him to turn on the faucet in his bathtub, and when he bent down to open it, the thief ripped the gold chain from his neck and ran away.

Arthur Nathaniel Booth, 58, is the man who police say is responsible for the robbery of Eduardo and two other victims in August alone.

If his name sounds familiar, it's because he's the same man whose story went viral in 2015 when Judge Mindy Glazer recognized him as her former middle school classmate.

At the time, he was charged with similar crimes such as burglary and grand theft.

The encounter moved Booth to tears.

“I hope you get out of here OK and can live a law-abiding life,” Glazer said during his bail hearing.

But police said Booth's actions were anything but legal. Last Thursday, he appeared before another judge again, where he was charged with several counts, including burglary and assault.

Eduardo hopes to get his gold chain with the Lazarus pendant back. He said it was a gift from Cuba and has sentimental value.

With the help of surveillance cameras, investigators were able to locate the suspect. In their report, investigators also noted that the suspect had pawned jewelry that matched the stolen items.

Booth was denied bail.
