The Ecoplastic job fair focuses on growth and opportunities for the community

Ecoplastic America, a leading manufacturer of plastic parts for automobiles, hosted a job fair on August 14 to provide immediate job opportunities to local residents. The event was held at the Georgia Southern CPE building on 301 South, easily accessible from Statesboro and Claxton, and generated a great deal of interest in the community.

Recently, Ecoplastic America hosted its fifth hiring event in August, a job fair aimed at adding talented new employees to its growing manufacturing team.

“We hope to be able to offer applicants immediate job offers and results as well as answers to questions about job offers, whether they are interested in our injection molding department, painting department, assembly, production control or quality control. This will give them an idea of where their interests lie so that we can help them find the job they want,” said Kevin CampbellTalent Acquisition/Public Affairs Manager at Ecoplastic. “It is important to us to place people in positions where they have both the required skills and the desire to develop further, possibly into leadership positions within the company.”

Ecoplastic is currently a premier supplier to HMGMA and specializes in the production of plastic components such as bumpers, consoles and trims. The company's reputation for quality and its good relationships with its customers are the result of years of successful cooperation.

Campbell expressed optimism about turnout for the job fair. He expects 50 to 100 people to attend and hopes to fill 20 to 40 positions in the coming weeks. The company chose the site because of its convenient location, making it easier for people to stop by on their lunch breaks or after work without having to navigate busy downtown areas.

“We wanted to offer an opportunity that was closer and more accessible, something that would attract a diverse group of people,” Campbell noted. “We have interviewers who are fluent in Korean and Spanish to ensure that language barriers don't deter anyone from applying.”

The event also highlighted Ecoplastics' commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. “We want our company to be a melting pot that welcomes people of all backgrounds and cultures,” Campbell said. “Our goal is to create an environment where innovators, experts, globalists, challengers and doers can come together to achieve their dreams or goals.”

Past job fairs for Ecoplastic have been successful, with the Claxton events resulting in 20 to 30 job openings. The company also hosts open interviews most Tuesdays from 2-6 p.m. at its downtown office at 25 Siebald Street in Statesboro, GA, where candidates can receive immediate feedback and possibly an immediate job offer.

When asked about the challenges in the hiring process, Campbell acknowledged competition from other companies in the region, especially since the automotive industry is relatively new to the area. “One of the biggest challenges is finding the best fit for each candidate, especially since many people are new to the automotive industry,” he explained.

Despite these challenges, Campbell believes the growth opportunities at Ecoplastic are a big draw for potential employees. “People are excited about the chance to start as a team member and then move up and develop internally as we continue to expand, potentially becoming a team leader, supervisor or other roles,” he said.

Campbell concluded by expressing his gratitude to the community for their support. “Without the community, without the partnerships we have built with local institutions like OTC, GSU, Evans, Candler and Bulloch County Schools, this would not be possible. Their support allows us to grow and expand the way we do.” He also added that the power of word of mouth is phenomenal. They have created so many jobs, and who knows who has provided them.

Ecoplastic's commitment to the community and focus on providing growth opportunities for its employees were evident at the job fair, signaling a bright future for both the company and its local workforce.
