Two small planes crash in separate incidents in northeast Nebraska


Nebraska State Patrol agents remain on the scene where two small planes crashed this morning in northeastern Nebraska.

The Nebraska State Patrol is the lead investigation agency for the plane crash in
Knox County. The accident was reported today at around 9:30 a.m. The location is
about 4 miles southwest of Crofton, Nebraska.

First responders, including police and Knox County Sheriff’s officers, located the pilot, who
was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The pilot was the only occupant of the aircraft at the time
of the crash. The name of the deceased will be released after the family has been notified.

The second accident occurred a short time later near Wayne, Nebraska. The Wayne County

The National Transportation Safety Board has been contacted and will investigate both accidents.
To assist with the investigation, police used drones to monitor both accident scenes.
