Alcohol, drugs, US currency and firearm seized during ALE search

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The NC Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) division has shut down an illegal alcohol retail location in Wilmington, according to a press release.

“On Friday, August 23, 2024, ALE, with the assistance of the Wilmington Police Department, executed a search warrant for 1306 S. 16th Street, Wilmington, NC. This joint operation resulted in the seizure of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, U.S. currency, various alcoholic beverages, and a firearm. During the course of this investigation, it was determined that Lanita Harrington was the operator of the illegal business,” ALE said in a press release.

Lanita Harrington, 37, of Wilmington, was charged with possession of alcoholic beverages for sale without an ABC permit, sale of alcoholic beverages without an ABC permit, unlawful possession of alcoholic beverages, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and concealed carrying of a firearm.
