As News Center 7 previously reported, Kenneth Haught was shot by a Huber Heights police officer in May after police video showed him pointing an “AR15-style rifle” at officers.

This happened shortly after police were called to a report of an incident of road rage between two people who presumably knew each other.

A man told police he tried to escape Haught, who allegedly shot out his window and rammed into his car

They ended up at the Shell gas station in the 8000 block of State Route 235.

“He hit me three times [expletive] Mal. You better send someone here,” the man said in an emergency call.

When officers arrived at the scene, they attempted to stop Haught's vehicle as he attempted to leave the gas station parking lot.

Video from a patrol car camera showed Haught speeding away from officers in a black Pontiac, driving onto State Route 235 and then onto New Carlisle Pike.

Officers attempted a PIT maneuver on Haught's vehicle but were unsuccessful. Continuing north on New Carlisle Pike, officers observed at least one item thrown from the suspect's vehicle. The item was later determined to be methamphetamine.

Haught then drove into a yard next to a home on Taylorsville Road.

In the video, Haught can be seen getting out of his car and pointing the air rifle at the police officers before he is shot. He was taken to a nearby hospital.

Haught is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, failure to obey a police signal, tampering with evidence, assault and obstruction of official business.
