1 dead after two-vehicle crash in Bonita Springs on Monday evening

A man has died following a crash on Old US-41 and Channel 30 Drive in Bonita Springs Monday night. The Florida Highway Patrol says a 26-year-old Bonita Springs man has died following a two-vehicle crash. The man was reportedly traveling north on Old US-41, south of Channel 30 Dr, while another driver was driving in front of him. The truck in front of the victim, driven by a 53-year-old Naples man, slowed to turn right onto Channel Dr. Police say the man failed to slow down and crashed into the rear of the truck. LEE COUNTY, Fla. —

A man was killed in an accident on Old US-41 and Channel 30 Drive in Bonita Springs on Monday evening.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a 26-year-old Bonita Springs man was killed after a two-vehicle crash.

The man was reportedly traveling north on Old US-41, south of Channel 30 Dr, while another driver was traveling in front of him.

The truck in front of the victim, driven by a 53-year-old Naples man, slowed to turn right onto Channel Dr.

According to police officials, the man did not slow down and crashed into the back of the truck. According to FHP, he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
