SCENE. WHAT'S HAPPENING THERE? LILY. SO, GOOD MORNING, BOTH OF YOU. I CAN TELL YOU THAT THIS ACCIDENT IS CLOSING THIS PART OF THE ROAD AND HAS THE POTENTIAL TO REALLY CAUSE DRIVERS A HEADACHE. A LITTLE LATER THIS MORNING, WHEN TRAFFIC INCREASES, I'M GOING TO GET OUT OF THE WAY AND SHOW YOU WHAT WE SEE THIS MORNING. NOW YOU CAN SEE THE POLICE BLOCKS HERE. THAT'S BROOKSIDE AVENUE, BUT THE ACCIDENT ITSELF HAPPENED A LITTLE FURTHER UP. CAPE MAY AND WEST LIBERTY AVE. AT THIS INTERSECTION WE CAN SEE THAT A WHITE CAR WAS FIRST LAYING ON ITS SIDE. BY THE TIME WE ARRIVED, THE TEAMS HAD JUST PUT IT BACK ON ITS WHEELS. NOW IT SEEMS TO HAVE INVOLVED SEVERE DAMAGE AS WELL. MAYBE IT HAD CRASHED INTO A PHONE OR POWER POLE IN THE AREA. WE ALSO SEE SOME SOME KIND OF TRANSFORMER ON THE GROUND. NOW THAT PART OF WEST LIBERTY AVE IS CLOSED AGAIN, AS I MENTIONED. THE AREA BETWEEN BROOKSIDE AVENUE AND CAPE MAY AVENUE, THAT'S A LARGE PART OF THAT BLOCK. TRAFFIC IS BEING DETOURED. POLICE ARE WORKING IN THE AREA TO RE-ROUTE TRAFFIC, BUT THAT COULD CAUSE TRAFFIC CONGESTION AND HEADACHES FOR DRIVERS THIS MORNING. NOW WE CAN TELL YOU, ACCORDING TO POLICE, ACCORDING TO ALLEGHENY COUNTY 911 OFFICERS. SORRY. WE CAN TELL YOU THAT NO TRANSPORTATION HAS BEEN DONE AS OF NOW. SO IT'S UNCLEAR IF ANYONE WAS INJURED. A section of West Liberty Avenue was closed on Tuesday morning due to an accident. The accident occurred shortly before 4 a.m. near the intersection with Cape May Avenue, right on the border between Pittsburgh's Beechview and Brookline neighborhoods. According to the emergency dispatch center, no one was taken to the hospital. There was initially no information about the possible cause of the accident. The road was reopened shortly after 6 a.m.
