2 dead, 1 injured in Delta TechOps incident at Atlanta Airport

ATLANTA – Two people were killed and a third person injured in an incident Tuesday morning at Delta's TechOps facility at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the company said.

Delta did not provide further details on the nature of the incident. In a statement, the company said it was “working with local authorities and conducting a full investigation to determine what happened.”

“The Delta family is deeply saddened by the loss of two team members and the injury of another following an incident this morning at the Atlanta Technical Operations Maintenance facility (TOC 3),” the statement said. “We have pledged our full support to family members and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.”

Delta's TechOps facility handles maintenance, repair and overhaul of the airliner, according to the company's website.

When asked, a spokesman for Hartsfield-Jackson's press office said there was “no impact on airport operations.”

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens released a statement on X about the incident: “I extend my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased Delta employees. My thoughts are also with the injured and I hope for their speedy and full recovery. AFRD, APD and HJAIA teams are on site and working diligently to manage the situation.”
