BSO: Man arrested for breaking into Macon store and tampering with air conditioning

They say it happened on Monday around 10:15 p.m.

MACON, Georgia – The Bibb County Sheriff's Office arrested a man Monday after witnesses saw him on the roof of a local business, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

They say 39-year-old Tye Alan Tyson was arrested Monday after officers were called to Great Furniture & Mattress in the 3400 block of Pio Nono Avenue.

Callers reported an “unknown” man on the roof of the company around 10:15 p.m., the press release said.

When an officer arrived, he found a ladder at the back of the building. As the officer climbed the ladder, Tyson was seen tinkering with the company's air conditioning systems.

The press release said Tyson was arrested and taken to the Bibb County Jail.

Tyson has now been charged with second-degree burglary and probation violation. He is currently being held without bail.
