Alabama high school football player dies after serious injury during game

Caden Tellier's mother said she is grateful for all the support the family has received following the death of her son from a brain injury. The Morgan Academy quarterback was injured during a game Friday night in Selma. The 16-year-old was flown to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where he died Saturday, according to the school's principal. Caden's mother, Arsella Tellier, posted an update on social media Monday saying they would donate her son's organs. In a statement sent to X on Saturday, Michael McLendon, the executive director of the Alabama Independent School Association, indicated that Morgan Academy will suspend all school activities this week to give the community time to come together. The school said counselors will be available for students and staff. The school announced the creation of a GoFundMe page to raise money to cover the family's expenses. He was a student, a friend, an athlete, and most importantly, a follower of Christ.
