Hendon Hooker wins QB2 job after Lions' latest transfer

There's already an obvious winner in the battle for the Detroit Lions' backup quarterback after the team decided to let Nate Sudfeld go. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, with Sudfeld's departure, the QB2 job lands in the lap of former Tennessee Volunteers star signal-caller Hendon Hooker.

“Source: The #Lions are releasing QB Nate Sudfeld, who spent a lot of time as the No. 2 QB,” Rapoport wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter) Tuesday morning. “Now it looks like Hendon Hooker got the job.”

“Sudfeld has made a lot of impressions in training (without many game replays) and will at least find his way into the training team,” added Rapoport.
