Closing arguments in the trial of the seven deadly sins are underway

MORGAN COUNTY, Alabama – Closing arguments are underway in the trial of the seven-deadly sins case. Frederic Rogers is on trial for capital crimes in connection with the 2020 killing of seven people in Valhermoso Springs.

The judge explained how the trial will proceed. The state will make closing arguments, the jury will be instructed, and they will be given the verdict form to deliberate.

The prosecutor addressed the jury and said, “You are involved and you care about this case… As we sit here together and as I stand here talking to you, it is clear as day that the defendant Frederic Rogers is guilty of capital crimes.” Rogers was expressionless during his closing argument.

The judge gives the jury instructions that run to 25 pages. No lunch break has been called since 11:45 a.m.
