Angel Vause rejects settlement after spectacular kidnapping and murder

Angel Cooper Vause, 56, of Georgetown, who is accused of lying to federal investigators about her knowledge of the 2009 kidnapping and murder of Brittanee Drexel, has rejected the plea agreement and agreed to go to trial.

After a lengthy trial during which, according to the U.S. Department of Justice, she was confirmed as guilty in federal court, Vause rejected the deal.

According to ABC 4 reporter Conley Grayson, after listening to attorneys recount the night Drexel was kidnapped, assaulted and murdered, Vause stood up and recanted, deciding to withdraw her guilty plea and agree to a trial.

Vause planned to plead guilty to two counts of lying to the FBI about her whereabouts that night and that Drexel voluntarily went with her and Moody.

During the hearing, however, Vause said she was on her way to Georgetown, as she had originally told FBI investigators.
