Rapper Lil Baby arrested in Las Vegas for concealed weapon possession

Rapper Dominique Jones, known to his fans as Lil Baby, was arrested on Monday morning for illegal possession of weapons.

Jones, 29, is charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, court records show. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed he was arrested at 5 a.m. on the Las Vegas Strip, but did not provide any further information.

Representatives for Jones did not immediately respond to NBC News' request for comment.

His lawyer told NBC News affiliate KSNV in Las Vegas that Jones has a permit to carry a concealed weapon in the state of Georgia.

Nevada recognizes licenses from some states, but Georgia does not appear to be one of them. The Nevada Public Department of Safety has a list of more than two dozen states whose permits it recognizes, but Georgia is not one of them.

Jones had an initial court appearance on Tuesday, where he posted cash bail.

According to court records, he does not appear to have confessed. His next hearing is scheduled for October 1.
