New Boeing (NYSE:BA) Pan Nicks Stock Quotes

It wasn't long ago that we heard about positive developments in the management of Boeing (BA). But the aerospace company also has critics, and the latest critic had little good to say about the change at the top of Boeing. The result: a slight loss in Boeing shares in trading on Tuesday afternoon.

This time it was Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary who stated that Boeing's new management had “continued to disappoint” as orders kept getting unfulfilled. Ryanair was supposed to receive 29 737 MAX aircraft by next summer, but apparently it will only receive 20 to 25.

O'Leary noted that he is “working closely with Stephanie Pope and the new team at Boeing, but they continue to disappoint us.” Boeing has promised to increase its production numbers by the end of the year, but given that the Federal Aviation Administration's production cap of 38 jets was still in effect in July – not to mention potential union issues that could crop up in a few weeks – its room for maneuver may be limited.

Yes, Another incident at Alaska Airlines

This point was underscored by recent news from Alaska Airlines (ALK), where Boeing again ran into trouble. On Sunday afternoon, a Boeing flight took off from Seattle bound for Los Angeles. It didn't get far when an engine failed mid-flight, and the flight returned to Seattle about an hour later.

Boeing itself did not respond to questions from the media, but Alaska Airlines announced that it “… worked to take care of our guests and facilitate their trip to Oakland yesterday afternoon.” Unsurprisingly, the airline also apologized for the inconvenience. Perhaps Ryanair should be happy that it cannot get all the aircraft it wants so quickly…
