Gas leak affects parts of downtown Lawrenceburg

LAWRENCEBURG, Kentucky – Part of Lawrenceburg will be closed indefinitely due to a gas leak, city police said.

South Main Street from West Woodford Street to Chautauqua Street is closed until further notice. The department is asking the public to avoid the area and anyone still in the area is asked to leave.


Anderson County Schools said in a Facebook post that Anderson County Middle School and Saffell Street Elementary School will continue classes indoors. The Anderson County Clerk's office in Lawrenceburg was also evacuated.
