Marion Police seek information on vandalism incident at golf course | Crime and Courts

MARION, Iowa (KWWL) – Marion Police are investigating a report of vandalism that occurred at Hunters Ridge Golf Course and a nearby residence earlier this month.

Marion Police received the vandalism report on August 19. An investigation revealed that the golf course had been defaced with spray paint, with teeing area number 1 and green number 18 being spray painted.

According to police, the messages were apparently directed at a golf course employee and included a swastika. A swastika and vulgar language were also spray-painted on a garage door in a nearby residential building.

A neighbor's camera filmed the three minors allegedly involved in the crime. While police do not believe the incident was a hate crime, the damage amounts to over $2,500.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-CS-CRIME.
