Neenah woman sentenced to 30 days in jail for animal abuse and death of her dog

CHILTON – In December 2023, David Woolman took his seven-pound Shih Tsu-Yorkie mix, Zelda, to an emergency veterinarian with mysterious injuries.

When Woolman arrived at the vet, he was told the dog was brain dead and there was an extremely slim chance she would ever regain consciousness. He made the difficult decision to euthanize her.

“It's only been eight months now and I still have flashbacks of coming home and seeing my puppy in that condition,” Woolman said. “She was only two years old. I should have had her for at least another eight to 10 years and she was just taken away from me too soon.”
