Man commits suicide in Reno casino after killing woman in Yuba City

Despite being more than 100 miles apart, Yuba City and Reno police are investigating a murder-suicide across state lines. On Sunday, Yuba City police said Reno officers located a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a casino. Officials said Reno police then asked Yuba City to check on the welfare of a woman at a Stabler Lane apartment. Yuba City police said when officers entered, they found the woman dead. Officials said the initial investigation indicated it was a murder-suicide. Police said the connection between the two and the circumstances leading to the deaths are being investigated. On Sunday, the Yuba City Police Department said Reno officers located a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a casino.

Officials said the Reno Police Department then asked the city of Yuba to check on the welfare of a woman in an apartment on Stabler Lane.

Yuba City police said officers found the woman dead when they entered.

Officials said initial investigations indicate the deaths were a murder followed by suicide.

Police said the relationship between the two and the circumstances leading to the deaths were currently under investigation.

Police have not released the names of the man and woman.
