Destiny 2 Chorus Of One Guide: God Rolls and How to Get the Exotic Auto Rifle

With the release of Echoes Act 3, new gear was added to Destiny 2, including a new exotic weapon called the Chorus of One. To obtain it, you'll need to complete a new exotic mission as part of the Act 3 story, which unlocks the ability to craft the Void Auto Rifle and customize its perks. However, to do so, you'll need to complete the Encore: Overture mission multiple times over the course of several weeks.

The Exotic mission has just launched and we're working to bring you everything you need to know about Chorus of One: how to get it, where to find the secrets within the Exotic mission that unlock its best perks, and what to focus on in Chorus of One's God Rolls.

How to get Chorus Of One

Choir of the One

The good news is that there are no secret prerequisites to unlocking the Encore: Overture mission. If you're familiar with the story of Echoes, you should be able to start Act 3 right away. The third act begins with a cutscene that gives a better idea of the motives of the villain Maya Sundaresh. Once it's over, head to the HELM and talk to Failsafe.

With new marching orders that are the same as the old ones – stop Maya and her plan to take over the entire solar system – your first stop in the Act 3 story will be the Exotic mission. You can launch Encore: Overture from the Director's Card for HELM.

Completing the mission will award you with both Choir of One and the pattern to craft it. As with other craftable exotic weapons, you'll then need to unlock the three exotic catalysts and the ability to change the barrel, magazine, and stock. To do this, you'll need to venture into the exotic mission at least one more time to unlock all of its secrets.

How to unlock the Exotic Catalyst Choir

As with other craftable Exotics, to obtain the weapon's various Exotic Catalysts, you'll need to complete the Exotic mission on Master difficulty, while also finding hidden chests found throughout the mission. There are a total of seven chests hidden throughout the mission, but it appears that not all of them are available this week. Expect all of the mission's secrets, and thus all of the Catalysts, to appear in Encore: Overture in the coming weeks as the Act 3 story unfolds.

With the additional catalysts you can extend Choir of One with three major advantages:

  • Livelihood
  • Destabilizing rounds
  • Rush

Each catalyst seems to be tied to an exotic quest, likely given by Failsafe. According to the Subsistence Catalyst on Choir of One, you need to complete the Choir: Eternal quest to unlock it. This involves finding the first secret chest in the mission, opening it, and then completing the entire mission on Master difficulty. Although I completed Encore: Overture, I have yet to receive this quest, which may indicate that it is unavailable this week.

How to unlock the Weapon Frame Choir

There are also three additional weapon frames for Choir of One associated with the hidden chests, and each one unlocks the ability to change the barrel, magazine, and stock. You can get the first of these frames now on either Normal or Master difficulty for Encore: Overture. Currently, only Command Frame II is available, with Command Frame III and Command Frame IV unlocking in later weeks.

To get these frames, you'll need to track down the hidden chests in Encore: Overture, which only appear after your first trip through the mission. Once you've completed them, you can go back and find several new Vex Confluxes, those white pillars that you can activate at certain points to unlock puzzles that lead to hidden chests. You can find more details on the hidden chests below.

How to start the exotic mission “Encore: Overture”

Once you're in Encore: Overture, it can be a little tricky to find your way. You'll be looking on the right side of the first arena for a ramp that will take you up the right side of the area.

Look for this path in the top right corner of the first pane.

When you're at the top of the ramp and can't go any higher, look sideways at the ground below. You should see a large white stone ball with a hole in it. That's your path.
