How to get the Choir of One Exotic Catalyst

This comprehensive guide will show you how to unlock all of the Choir of One exotic catalysts from the new Encore exotic mission in Destiny 2.

The final act of Episode Echoes just went live in Destiny 2, adding a ton of new content to the game, including new legendary weapons, story progression, and the new exotic mission Encore, which Bungie says is one of the biggest exotic missions the company has ever created.

Of course, this new exotic mission includes a new exotic weapon for players to unlock: Choir of One. This new weapon is an exotic Void Auto Rifle that uses special ammunition.

Similar to many other exotic weapons in the game, Choir of One features an exotic catalyst with three conversion perks that can be unlocked through the exotic mission Encore.

Similar to the weapon itself, you can Exotic catalyst for Choir of One in the new exotic Encore mission. Below you will find the step-by-step guide to unlock the exotic catalyst for this weapon.

Step 1: Complete the Exotic Encore Mission

The first step is to complete the Encore Exotic mission on normal difficulty. Visit Failsafe to receive the new quest for this mission.

Remember that you must complete all previous Act 1 and Act 2 story quests to unlock the exotic Choir of One and Catalysts.

To get the secret chests, you must complete the SpecimenID: NES007 questline, which you receive with your first Encore completion, as well as the weekly story questline.

Step 2: Get the quest from Banshee-44

Now that you have completed the mission, visit Banshee-44 in the Tower and pick up the exotic catalyst quest “Choir of One”. This quest is called “//CHOIR: ETERNAL”. Below is the list of objectives for this questline:

  • “Open the first secret chest in the exotic mission 'Encore' and complete the exotic mission 'Encore' on expert difficulty to unlock the first catalyst for Choir of One.”

It is recommended to complete all steps in one session on Expert difficulty, but it is also possible to open the chest first and then complete the mission separately on Expert difficulty.

Step 3: Exotic Encore Mission on Expert Difficulty

Start the Encore mission again and at the end of the mission, just before the boss encounter, go to the research lab/room. In this room you will hear the dialogue between Maya Sundaresh, Chioma Esi, Ikora Rey and Osiris.

At the end of the room you will see a Vex Conflux spawn. Interact with it and the portal in front of it will activate. Enter the portal and you will see another portal opened in the next room. Go through the portal and you will find yourself in a circular room with a few blue buffs.

And this is how the puzzle works: The blue buffs in the room can open portals when placed next to them. Each portal emits a white laser connected to a Vex diamond that turns white and indicates where you will be teleported when you enter the portal.

Above the circular room is another chamber divided into segments, each containing a purple Vex node. Your goal is to destroy all of these nodes. Remember that there is a timer, so you have to be quick or the purple nodes will respawn.

To progress, move the blue buffs to the portals that emit lasers directly beneath the vulnerable nodes. Teleport up, destroy the nodes, and continue this process until all nodes are eliminated. Once all nodes are destroyed, A chest containing the Choir of One subsistence catalyst will appear.

Destiny 2: Choir of One – Exotic Catalyst Perks

The Choir of One Exotic Catalyst is available with three different conversions: Destabilizing Rounds, Onslaught, and Subsistence. Below you can see all three conversions with descriptions of the benefits:

  • Conversion of destabilizing projectiles: Final strikes make nearby targets uncontrollable.
  • Onslaught Rework: Final strikes with this weapon increase its rate of fire.
  • Subsistence conversion: Defeating targets partially reloads the magazine from reserves.
