UNF restores power after incident injures two JEA employees

The University of North Florida restored power to campus after an incident injured two JEA employees.

According to News4Jax, the JEA stated that the outage was caused by a defect in the electrical cabinet, but further details were not disclosed.

According to News4Jax, the two workers were taken to the hospital by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue with non-life-threatening injuries, one of them has already been released.

UNF President Moez Limayem gave Spinnaker a statement on the incident.

“On behalf of the UNF community, we send our support to the two JEA employees who were injured on campus today and wish them a speedy recovery,” Limayem said.

In its third campus alert, sent about three hours after the outage, UNF confirmed that power had been restored to all areas of campus.

The alert urged anyone experiencing problems in their premises to contact UNF Physical Facilities.
