Violent crimes across Israel: One dead and eight injured – Crime in Israel

One person was killed and eight injured in four separate criminal incidents on Tuesday evening, Israeli police reported.

A man was shot in Yarka and police later confirmed his death. The man, Roni Abu Hamda, 30, was the 151st Arab citizen of Israel killed in circumstances related to violence and crime since the beginning of 2024, the Abraham Initiatives reported.

In another incident, a woman in her 50s was injured by the explosion of a fragmentation grenade in Daliat al-Carmel. She was evacuated to the Rambam Health Care Campus for treatment and is said to be in serious condition, Israeli police reported, citing medical sources.

Officers from the Nesher Police Station have launched an investigation into the incident.

Both Yarka and Daliat al-Carmel are Druze-majority towns.

Crime in the center

In addition, six people were injured in Ramla, five lightly and one moderately, after a grenade was thrown at a shop in the city, N12 reported, citing police. The injured were evacuated to Shamir Medical Center.

Earlier, a man was seriously injured in a gun attack on Ben Gurion Street in Bat Yam, Israeli police reported. The 46-year-old man was taken to Wolfson Hospital in Holon.

Tel Aviv District Police officers have launched an investigation and are trying to locate those involved, a statement said.
