Redding police investigate fatal motorcycle-car collision | News

REDDING, California. – Redding police are investigating a crash between a motorcycle and a truck that left the motorcyclist dead.

Police said officers were called to a crash involving a motorcycle and a car on Churn Creek Road near Maraglia Street around 3:50 p.m.


According to police, the motorcyclist involved in the crash was traveling northbound in the 2800 block of Churn Creek Road when a truck pulled out of a driveway. The driver of the truck was 71-year-old Darrell Mullins of Los Molinos.

The motorcyclist was unable to prevent the accident and succumbed to his injuries, police said.

The Redding Police Department's Traffic Unit is investigating this accident and is also looking into whether drugs, alcohol or speed played a role.

Police said Churn Creek Road is now open to normal traffic.
