Dallas murder suspect arrested in Prairie Village after call about suspicious vehicle

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kansas (KCTV) — A call to police in Prairie Village, Kansas, about a suspicious vehicle led to the arrest of a man wanted for a murder in Dallas, Texas, Saturday night.

Prairie Village police said officers were called to the area of ​​76th Street and Norwood Road late Saturday night.

The man's vehicle was searched after drugs were found in the car. During the search, a stolen gun from Fort Worth, Texas, was found, according to PVPD, and the driver – 22-year-old Jaylen Stallworth – was discovered to be a felon in possession of a gun.

After Stallworth was booked into jail at 3:37 a.m. Sunday morning, it was discovered that he was suspected of a murder in Dallas, Texas.

The 22-year-old from Wylie, Texas, was booked into the Johnson County Detention Center on charges of theft of a firearm and possession of marijuana.

Stallworth must post $50,000 bail and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for September 11, 2024.
