Gameplay of Battle Royale's “Crysis Next” leaked online, but Crytek shuts it down

Crysis Next was a free-to-play battle royale shooter set in the heart of the Crysis universe. It was designed as a third-person multiplayer game that had years of work put into it before it was presumably quietly canceled by Crytek. Rumors of the Crysis battle royale game started to emerge in 2020, but this is one of the first times we've seen a gameplay leak.

Crytek, the developer of the series, has issued warnings to anyone who uploads and shares the content online.

What could have been

In the gameplay videos for Crysis Next, the canceled Battle Royale project, we get an insight into a rudimentary multiplayer platform whose development is apparently not very advanced yet.

Crytek never officially admitted it, and before the team had a chance to confirm its existence, Crysis 4 was announced. It's been about two years since the company announced that a new Crysis game was in the works, and so far nothing more than a brief teaser has been delivered, leaving fans wondering what's happening with the long-awaited sequel.

More than a decade has passed since the release of Crysis 3 and gamers are hungry for more Nanosuit adventures.

Unfortunately, Crysis Next, which was supposed to take advantage of the Battle Royale boom, will never see the light of day. It had potentialallowing players to customize and control a powerful Nanosuit and take on one of three roles: Frontliner, Tactician, and Flanker. It would presumably have been a powerful Battle Royale with large, open maps, but that's mostly just speculation.

It is not known When Crysis Next has been cancelled, we only know that it Was.
