Lil Baby arrested for concealed weapon in Las Vegas

Lil Baby was arrested after being accused of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit in Las Vegas.

According to court documents seen by PEOPLE, the 29-year-old rapper, whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit following his arrest on Monday, August 26.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirmed to PEOPLE that he was arrested around 5 a.m. after an incident occurred in the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. No further details were released.

According to court records, he was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and released on bail. He is due back in court on October 1.

In a joint statement to The Los Angeles TimesHis attorneys Drew Findling and David Chesnoff said Lil Baby “has a valid Georgia state concealed carry weapon (CCW) permit.”

“On his behalf, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances of his arrest in Las Vegas,” their statement continued.

According to the Georgia Attorney General's website, Nevada does not recognize concealed carry permits from Georgia.

Lil Baby will perform in Atlanta in December 2023.

“Georgia gun license holders should familiarize themselves with the individual Georgia gun license requirements and restrictions in each state in which they plan to exercise their rights,” the website advises. “Gun laws vary from state to state, and other states may have municipal or county ordinances regulating guns.”

Accordingly BillboardLil Baby has already had legal troubles in 2021, when he was arrested in France during Paris Fashion Week for allegedly “transporting drugs.” The outlet reports that he was also arrested in Atlanta for reckless driving in February 2019.
