Detroit man who abused drug-addicted women sentenced to 17.5 years in prison

Quiyemabi Summerlin, 45, of Detroit, who abused drug-addicted women and lured them to his basement with false promises, was sentenced to 17.5 years in prison, according to prosecutors.

Officials said Summerlin supplied women with heroin, fentanyl and cocaine and forced them into endless commercial sex acts.

Summerlin used violence to obtain his victims' consent and also raped several of his victims.

The 45-year-old man was sentenced to 17.5 years in prison for sex trafficking using violence and coercion, operating drug establishments and illegal possession of firearms.

Summerlin pleaded guilty to human trafficking involving three victims. During the investigation, the FBI identified 25 women who stayed at Summerlin's home for a time and performed commercial sex acts at his direction.
