We haven't started dusting off Samsung's Galaxy Book4 Pro yet, but the Korean tech giant is apparently already in the midst of developing its popular portable Windows PC.

The latest report suggests that Samsung is already working on the Galaxy Book5 Pro, which will feature Intel's next-generation Lunar Lake CPUs.

Samsung takes another leap with the Galaxy Book5 Pro

The Galaxy Book5 Pro leak comes from leaker @momomo_us on X/Twitter. The leaker discovered the next Pro Galaxy Book with the model number “Samsung NT940XGK-DSD” in the SiSoftware benchmark database.

The leak also shows an 8-core Lunar Lake chip with four performance and four efficiency cores. The clock speed of 2.8 GHz is also mentioned, but we advise ignoring it as the CPU is in the early testing phase and this is not the final clock speed.

Finally, the leak also mentions the integrated Xe2 graphics.

Samsung's current-generation Galaxy Book4 Pro launched in early 2024. It made the jump to Intel's Meteor Lake chips, and it looks like Samsung is ready for another jump.

However, it must be pointed out that the power-saving Lunar Lake chips are subordinate to the Meteor Lake chips and are designed primarily for efficiency.

While the new Intel chips will definitely give Samsung's thin and light laptops a small performance boost, the biggest impact will be on battery life.

More specifically, battery life will be significantly improved on Samsung's next-generation Windows laptops, making them more competitive with Apple's MacBooks.

The leak came pretty early, and Intel's Lunar Lake chips are likely to hit shelves in late 2024, so it's possible that the Galaxy Book5 Pro could launch even sooner than its predecessor.
