UFC CEO Dana White shares dramatic photos of his injury from the Contender Series

It does not happen often, but sometimes fighters on Dana White's Contender Series can earn the respect of the UFC CEO even after a loss.

Dana White's Contender Series Results and Highlights (Season 8, Week 3)

The first two weeks of this year’s season, which is already in its eighth season, DWCS Eight fighters received UFC contracts before another four signed contracts with the promotion following the conclusion of yesterday's episode.

Week 3 was unique in that the opening fight between Nick Piccininni and Jack Duffy was already scheduled for a rematch after that ended in a controversial split decision. Featherweight Michael Aswell was also later promised a chance in the UFC after losing to Bogdan Grad by split decision.

The fight between Grad and Aswell was so action-packed that many fans expected both men to get UFC contracts, and after the event concluded, White shared some pictures of a nasty cut Aswell suffered above his eye.

Although Aswell did not sign directly with the promotion, White told “Texas Kid” that once he was healthy, he would be the first to step in as a replacement fighter should a featherweight pull out of upcoming UFC cards.

Andrey Pulyaev also joined Grad as UFC contract winner in Week 3 DWCS after scoring a unanimous decision victory over Liam Anderson in their middleweight bout, and both Marco Tulio and Malcolm Wellmaker were clear choices to join the promotion following their respective stoppage victories in Las Vegas.
