Grand jury indicts three defendants in Fulton murder case

FULTON, Missouri (KMIZ)

A grand jury on Wednesday indicted three people suspected in the death of a Fulton teenager.

Mitchell Henderson Jr., 44, of Columbia, is charged with first-degree murder, illegal possession of a firearm and armed criminal action. Quiara Walton, 19, of Fulton, is charged with first-degree murder. Emmanuel Brown, 20, of Holts Summit, is charged with aiding and abetting first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

All three individuals are being held without bail in the Callaway County Jail. Arraignments are scheduled for 10:15 a.m. Tuesday in the Callaway County Courthouse.

They are all accused of shooting 19-year-old Jakiem Braggs on July 16. Police responded to a call that day about a shooting in the 1200 block of Kathy Street and found Braggs dead in the street with gunshot wounds.

Previous court documents say Walton “lured” Braggs to the area after messaging him on the social media application Snapchat. The statement describes the shooting as an “ambush.”

Police said last month that a juvenile was suspected of being involved in the incident and was in the custody of juvenile authorities.
