iOS 18.1 Developer Beta 3 has been released and brings a cool new AI feature to the Photos app

Apple has released another series of beta updates, including iOS 18 Developer Beta 8 (software build 22A5350a). The date on which Apple will release the stable version of iOS18 will be announced on September 9 during the Glowtime event, which will see the iPhone 16 lineup, new Apple Watch Series 10, Apple Watch SE 3, and Apple Watch Ultra 3 unveiled. We could also see two versions of the fourth-generation AirPods, with a premium variant featuring active noise cancellation.
If you own an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max, you can now install iOS18.1 Developer Beta 3, which includes the Apple Intelligence Beta and gives users an extended preview of Apple’s AI initiative. The latest iOS18.1 Developer Beta includes a feature for the native Photos app called “Clean Up,” which is similar to the Magic Eraser feature Google introduced with the Pixel 6 line in 2021.

With Clean Up, the user selects a distraction in a photo and has it removed. It uses AI to fill in the now empty pixel space by adjusting the area around the now removed object. Here's how this feature works: Open the Photos app and tap a photo. Press the edit icon with the three sliders at the bottom of the gray bar. There's a new tab at the bottom for Clean Up. Press it and if it's your first time using it, you'll have to wait for the software to load. After that, every time you tap Clean Up, you can immediately circle your finger around the object you want to remove and a few seconds later, the distraction will be gone.

If you want to restore the deleted item, just tap the yellow “Reset” button located right below the dynamic island.

If you want to try Apple Intelligence on your iPhone, you currently need an iPhone with 8 GB of RAM, which you can find on the iPhone 15 Pro And iPhone 15 Pro MaxAll four iPhone16 Models will support Apple Intelligence, although Apple will not release Apple Intelligence for the new models until iOS18.1 will be launched. This is expected to happen in October.
