Gas stations with gasoline under $3

Gasoline prices are falling as millions of people prepare to travel over Labor Day weekend. According to Wisconsin AAA, the average price for a gallon in Wisconsin is $3.23, 7 cents less than last week. On Milwaukee's south side, at the corner of 35th and Oklahoma Avenue, there are two gas stations, the Petro Mart and the Amoco, where regular gasoline costs $2.99. Elsewhere in Milwaukee, GasBuddy.com is showing prices as low as $2.97. The owner of the Amoco says that's creating a boom in business. “And inflation is so bad out there, and everything goes so high when we see gas prices go down and stuff. The customers are happy customers. They want to fill up. They want to have fun. When the price of gas is that high, nobody wants to do anything,” said Raed Ahmad. According to Wisconsin AAA, the average price of gasoline is currently 30 cents lower than it was this time last year. This price drop comes just in time for Labor Day weekend. According to AAA, they expect more travel this year than last year. “We don't do the same detailed travel forecast for Labor Day as we do for other weekends, but we expect domestic travel to increase about 9% compared to the same period last year, while international travel will be slightly lower,” said Nick Jarmusz of AAA. Jarmusz added that some of the factors behind the lower prices are the economy and supply, which will have to keep up with demand this summer.
