Several injured, including children, in an accident involving two vehicles

A two-vehicle collision in Middletown Township Wednesday morning injured several people, including children, and caused significant traffic delays.

The accident occurred around 10:15 a.m. at the intersection of Gilliam Avenue and Pine Street (Route 413) near the Langhorne Borough border.

According to Langhorne-Middletown Fire Department Chief Frank Farry, one of the vehicle doors was jammed and firefighters had to break it open to get to the people trapped inside.

Five people, including some children, were taken to a local hospital with injuries.

The accident caused traffic disruptions in the area.

Middletown Township Police investigated the accident.

In addition to the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Department and Police Department, the Middletown Township Fire and Emergency Management Department and the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad were on scene. The Langhorne County Police Department and Bucks County Rangers were also on scene.
