Police are looking for a man who was caught on video smashing the windshield of a car in the city center

Police are searching for a man who smashed the windshields of several cars along Spruce Street in Center City on Tuesday afternoon. The man was caught on video jumping on a car and stomping on the windows.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. in the 900 and 1000 blocks of Spruce Street, a residential area west of Pennsylvania Hospital in Washington Square West.

On Wednesday, police released video showing the man standing on top of a white SUV and slamming his foot into the windshield. The man then jumps out of the car and appears to point at someone outside of the camera's view. The man can also be seen on surveillance video walking down Spruce Street.

According to authorities, several cars were damaged, but the exact number could not be given.

Police described the suspect as a man with a beard and mustache. He was wearing a dark hat, a light-colored sweatshirt, light-colored pants and sneakers with a black, red and white pattern at the time of the incident. He also had a dark backpack with him.
