Results of the Franklin County Sheriff's Office Crime Stopper

The operation lasted 12 hours, beginning on Tuesday and lasting until the early hours of Wednesday morning.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio – The Franklin County Sheriff's Office completed its third blitz of the year on Tuesday.

Operation Unity was designed to combat illegal activities such as thefts and drug-related crime. The operation also aims to combat the rise in vehicle thefts, shootings and serious assaults.

The operation lasted 12 hours and spanned the areas of South High Street from Williams Road in the north to south into Pickaway County, with the village of South Bloomfield being the southernmost.

Officers arrested 17 people and seized cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine. Below are the results of Tuesday's operation.

• 16 arrests for misdemeanors

• 2 grams of cocaine seized

• 2 grams of fentanyl seized

• 7.1 grams of methamphetamine seized

• 32 citizens were contacted directly for crime prevention

The sheriff's office's first call of the year took place in Prairie and Franklin townships in late May. The second call took place in June in the northeastern part of Franklin County.

Columbus Police have conducted two crime-busting operations of their own so far this year, focusing on the south, east and northeast parts of the city.
