Attorneys General sue RealPage for driving up rent prices

A new lawsuit accuses a popular revenue management software of harming millions of renters. The DDepartment of JJustice and more than half a dozen attorneys general, including North CArolinas filed a lawsuit against RealPage, claiming that the company reduces competition and drives up prices.

Landlords use RealPAge up to Measuring device how much money they can collect for an apartment by using data from surrounding apartments. Attorneys general say this is part of a plan to limit competition and keep rental prices high.

In response to the lawsuit RealPage has launched a new website that makes some data on apartment occupancy and rental price public available.
