Tesla driver Nathaniel Radimak released early from prison after outbursts of aggression in traffic in Southern California

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A man was released from prison Wednesday after serving less than a year of his five-year sentence for a series of road rage incidents in Southern California that left his victims traumatized.

Nathaniel Radimak, 37, became known for driving a Tesla and smashing his victims' cars with a metal pipe. Several of the attacks were caught on video.

Radimak attacked nearly a dozen drivers, mostly women, throughout Los Angeles County between 2022 and 2023.

Last September, he was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to assault, vandalism, elder abuse and criminal threatening. Although he served less than a year of his five-year sentence, Radimak was eligible for parole.

Radimak was granted 424 days for time he had already served while awaiting sentencing and was eligible for “credit earning opportunities” while incarcerated, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said in a statement.

“Radimak was released on parole supervision in Los Angeles County on August 28, 2024, after fully serving his statutory sentence,” the CDCR said.

The man's victims are outraged at his early release and fear he might strike again.

“I can't believe that such a short sentence would lead to any kind of behavior change or rehabilitation considering how long he has been committing crimes,” one victim said during a Zoom press conference alongside his attorney, Gloria Allred.

Another victim said: “I am worried that he will try to find the victims whose names have been published. He is a danger to society and I am absolutely against his early release.”

Allred said Radimak's victims were recently informed that he would be released on Wednesday.

“His early release has shocked and disappointed many of the victims I represent,” Allred said.

Some victims say the justice system has failed them by not allowing them to speak in court before a plea agreement is reached.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office released a statement saying, among other things:

“The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office does not determine when an inmate is released from custody. This, as well as victim notification, is the responsibility of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.”
