Snoop Dogg tells exciting hype video about the 2024 Paralympics – NBC Los Angeles

Who is ready for another exciting competition in Paris? Snoop Dogg is definitely ready.

Just a few weeks after the conclusion of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, the opening ceremony of the Paralympics took place in the French capital on Wednesday.

Around 4,400 athletes from 168 delegations, including 225 athletes from the US team, took part in the parade of nations before the lighting of the Paralympic cauldron. Just like at the last Olympic Games, the cauldron is attached to a hot air balloon and lifted off into the Paris night after being lit by five French Paralympians.

Even though Snoop Dogg wasn't in the City of Lights for the recent opening ceremony, he was certainly there in spirit. The rapper, entrepreneur and unofficial spokesman for the Paris Olympics ushered in the games by commenting on an exciting hype video, which can be seen in the player above.

“The motto of these games is spirit and movement,” Snoop Dogg said in the video. “I can relate to that. Because speed is speed, strength is strength and games are games, baby. Not to mention the harmony that comes when the world comes together to go for the gold and fight for everything you've worked for in that one moment that competition gives you!”

The 17th Summer Paralympics – and the first in France – will feature 549 medal-winning events in 22 sports, including a record 236 women's events.

“No matter the story, no matter the journey… the Paralympics have it coming for the next 12 days,” said Snoop Dogg. “So welcome back to Paris! It's the 2024 Paralympics.”
